Regarded as the towering icon of fashion, her tripartite contributions to the fields of fashion, business and interior design has led to her being classified by some as one the greatest fashion influencers of all time. Born 29 Aug, 1921 as Iris Barrel (later Iris Apfel upon marriage), she attended New York University where she studied art history and art school at the University of Wisconsin. Her work range from diverse sectors and on to diverse projects, some are as awe-inspiring as design–renovating the White House, from 1950-1992, she participated in several such initiatives, this meant she worked for nine presidents, a mind boggling fact and a testament to her quality, legacy and consistency, the presidents are; Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan and Clinton.
